Luella’s

Located next door to the sweetest chocolate store, Chocolate Haus, on Turquoise Street in Pacific Beach, Luella’s is a place where SoCal girls will find the best in cottony seaside looks. The most fabulous part–the prices are sure to put a glow in your cheeks.

Just walking into Luella feels like a beautiful summer day. The walls and floor are a sky blue with white and sand accents. A huge Balinese shell chandelier hangs from the ceiling, and the dressing room curtains, owner Lori Arnerich’s babies, are an explosion of soft fluffy frills in a variety of pastels. The store feels light, comfortable, and welcoming.

Arnerich carries a mélange of clothing lines. Everything from BB Dakota, to her mother’s hand-knitted sweaters’, to the beautiful Balinese line Indah.
Arnerich’s enthusiastic energy and smiling face are contagious. She was a personal trainer. Her degree is in Exercise and Nutritional Science from San Diego State University. The store is named after her grandmother, Ella combined with her nick-name, Lu.

Luella also carries Lamixx, by Jacqueline Rose, a line out of Huntington Beach known for it’s sexy wear ability. Lamixx is fast becoming the go-to for style everyday tees and skirts.

Arnerich’s real find is the shoe line Lovers and Friends. These trendy Gladiator style shoe booties are great looking, and at a sturdy heeled $86.00 a pair, they’re worth every cent.

As with everything in Luella the accessories are little gems of happiness. Arnerich is devoted to two local jewelry designers, Lush and Mii & Lu. Both are simple, clean, and inexpensive.

Whether you’re in

to summery dresses, cropped leather jackets, strappy shoes, or over-sized beach bags, Luella’s is the new boutique by the shore designed to fit the needs of sunny California and the spicy women who live here. Once summer hits, Luella’s is sure to be the hot spot in PB to run in and get a little something to wear before hitting the beach or heading out to Grand or Garnett Avenue for the night.
