Dream Girls is almost as much of an institution on Newport Street as the infamous hamburger joint, Hodad’s—which has become synonymous with OB. Owner of Dream Girls, Bridget McGirr, says the very junior-style store has an energy you can feel when you enter. The store’s reputation is that of being cramped and over-stuffed with merchandise, but it doesn’t seem to stop the determined young girls who cram in every day. “Even though the look of the store may be trendy, I wear at least half of the clothes, and I’m forty-six,” says McGirr.
