Chillers Showroom
Chillers boutique interprets the laid-back SoCal style by offering a casual all-cotton clothing line at a great price. Customers who shop here find looks that scream beachy California hip. Chillers makes some of the most unique graphic tees around.
Owned by La Jolla native and good-looking metro-sexual surfer-dude Eric Blumenthal, Chillers just may put Cass Street and Pacific Beach back on the map for a cool underground shopping opportunity.
In an enormous industrial looking space with exposed wood beans, concrete floors, sheet metal moldings, a flat-screen TV, and track lighting, Blumenthal is hoping to create a shopping experience for customers. “Comfort is our main focus and hopefully the store reflects that,” says Blumenthal.
The 5,000 square foot boutique, formerly an upholstery store, boasts a lounge complete with wine and espresso. Custom silk-screens hang on the wall ready to print original tees, and there’s enough space out back to have a rad beach party.
The Chillers line got its start in La Jolla designing limited edition tees. The designers are chosen from around the world and encouraged to incorporate their various cultures into the designs. The materials used are high quality and printed using water-based inks and actual silk-screens—no machines.
For a more urban feel Blank jeans can be found in Chillers as well. Blank’s motto—not all premium denim comes with a premium price tag. New York edgy downtown style meets sophisticated hipster, the line has a faithful celebrity following, with fans like Rihanna, Megan Fox, and Hillary Duff, this line is affordable denim done right.
Transitioning from his job as travelling salesman selling the Chillers line out of a suitcase with samples, Eric Blumenthal finally has a home base and a boutique he can call his own.
The store is a stop in PB where women can find cute summery dresses from well-known lines like Velvet and Bobi, Havaiana flip-flops, a pair of jeans, and of course the essential go-with-everything Chillers graphic tee.
