I am an award-winning journalist with over a decade of experience in digital, print, audio, and broadcast media.
From my early days writing about local businesses and reporting on the U.S.-Mexico border, I’ve been drawn to deeply reported narrative stories, focusing on culture and race and giving a voice to those who go unheard.
In addition to a thriving freelance career, I currently work as the reproductive rights reporter for The American Independent (TAI News), a progressive political nonprofit news site.
I recently co-wrote a short story titled “Blue Dawn: A horrifying tale in real-time,” and in 2022, I was awarded the Rosalynn Carter Fellowship in Mental Health Journalism. My project was a series of articles focused on the mental health of Black teachers and educators in the U.S.

My independent work has appeared in The Washington Post, Playboy magazine, Colorlines, Race Forward, The Hollywood Reporter, HuffPost, VICE News, Bustle, NBC, Cosmopolitan magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Reckon News, and more.
I’m a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists and a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University.
